In 1989, Catawba Lodge considered starting a Life Membership program to help fund the lodge's programs. Today, the Lodge has over 150 Life Members and growing. With the money that is paid for the Life Membership, the lodge uses this money as an endowment similar to our council.

In 2016, Catawba Lodge changed the name to the Silver Nest Club. Since National doesn't recognize a "Life Membership", Catawba Lodge has changed the name, but everything else remains the same.
